sanctification, part III

December 29, 2009

A couple posts ago I asked why the process of being conformed to Christ’s image (sanctification) is often a slow and difficult one. This post continues that topic, and I will examine the role of service in sanctification. In the end, I will seek to demonstrate that as one serves in obedience, one is also sanctified. Got a word?

December 28, 2009

Today dad asked me to facilitate the communion time. He requested that I begin by allowing time for people to share words. So with great joy I asked, “Has the Lord put anything on your heart? Does anyone have a word to share?” Most exciting, and this is a weekly practice in VCF.

mdiv

December 26, 2009

Dave Black comments today about the MDiv. Personally, I have talked with graduating Mdiv’ers who admit that they’ve never read the whole Bible through once. Can you imagine?

I’ve also talked with Mdiv’ers who don’t have to work, are given their parents credit card, expect to get 9 hours of sleep a night, and are shocked when they discover some students work full time, go to school full time, and even get up at 6 in the morning.

Mom and dad Little treated us to a dinner last week at Johnny Carino’s in Raleigh. The ladies wanted to get all fancied up.

through the meadow

December 26, 2009

Going hiking is one of my all time favorite activities. It’s really convenient to be able to step out my backdoor and walk in the woods right behind the house. There are plenty of woods and trails in Louisburg. I find the fresh air invigorating, the exercise rejuvenating, and the aloneness a good time to think and pray.

Holiday fun

December 25, 2009

HJ and I are in Elizabeth City visiting my family. Her folks visited us last week, and now we’ll be gone for a few days. How fun to reunite with loved ones after a busy year!

The family plans to…

walk the beach (Elizabeth City is very close to the outer banks)
play family games
read aloud to each other
and a whole lot more

Pictures are sure to come
