Tough Choice
April 19, 2010
I’m really debating about which classes to take in the fall. I’ll be beginning a Th.M., and am supposed to take two M.Div level courses and two seminars. Listen to this all-star line up:
Psalms…… Cole
Septuagent……..Black and Cole
Hebrews……..Black
Linguistics…….Black
Textual Criticism…..Robinson
How can one possibly choose? Maybe I won’t, maybe I’ll just sign up for all of them.

Here’s a very unscientific stab at how to decide -
You have Robinsons in your family tree – a plus
Your last name starts with a ‘B’ like Black – a plus
Oh look, I weeded out one course.
There you go!
I’ve had Linguistics with Black and Textual Criticism with Robinson… probably two of the best classes I took at SEBTS. But, if I were still taking classes, I would not pass up the chance to take the Septuagint or Hebrews classes… so… I don’t know.

Choice # 1:
You should sign up for all except for the course on Psalms.
Choice # 2:
You can do indepedent with Dr. Cole on Psalms or purchase the books.
Choice # 3:
If Linguistics or Textual criticism is offered every semester you might want to leave one and take Psalms instead.
Choice # 4:
If you don’t work or have a family, go ahead and have fun take all of them.
Be ready to do some serious brand stretch!
Blessings,
Lou
Thanks for stopping by, Lou. I’ll make it a point to check out your blog.
I think I’m leaning towards option 1, but we shall see…
No problem!
