Arrival with family
July 5, 2012
We successfully left Louisburg and arrived with family near the Outerbanks, where we will stay for the next couple weeks. We got an early start Sunday morning, partly thanks to the air-mattress (pictured left), which developed a huge air bubble on Saturday night.
Sunday morning we hopped out of bed, put the luggage rack on the car, loaded things up, and headed out. As you can see, the car was VERY full–note, this is how not to pack when you are moving overseas!
We are enjoying being with my parents. It is so nice to have extra hands to help with the baby. That way when Melo wakes up at 6:00 in the morning, she can get some quality bonding time with Grammy, and daddy can get some extra sleep.
I have been making it a priority to get a couple of hours alone to myself each day so I can practice more German. Thankfully the family is very supportive and understanding for this. We have also been having lots of fun together too!
I also got to take a 3 hour airplane ride with a friend from church this morning. We circled around the Outerbanks, saw Cape hatteras, and flew over a controlled fire. Well, enjoy the pictures, I’m going to go practice some more German.
