Busy Mother’s Day Weekend
May 14, 2012
Enjoy these pictures from mother’s day weekend. You’ll see some pictures of Melody with pig-tails–this was the first time she ever wore them.
Blogging up a storm
August 30, 2011
My wife has been writing some great stuff on her blog. You can read it HERE. How in the world she manages to teach part-time, be a full-time wife and mother, and blog is beyond me!
HJ’s update
July 28, 2011
My wife has updated her blog (click HERE). She has not blogged very regularly lately, but I take full responsibility for this, since I am the “computer hog.”

Another blogger has joined the ranks. This one is very close to home, in fact, we share the same home. Hannah-Joy has started a blog. You can view it HERE.
Babe, what are you writing about?
March 19, 2011
My wife often asks me this question. She likes to know and discuss the various things I’m thinking and writing about. Oftentimes she disagrees with me and a lively discussion ensues. Other times she’ll have a fresh perspective that brings clarity to the issue. But one thing is true: she does not read what I write — that stopped a long time ago when we were in college. She does not read my blog or any school papers; she feels that if I am keeping her updated and discussing things with her she has no need to read them. In light of all of this, I got a huge chuckle out of Scripture Zealot’s recent post. He quotes Carl Truman, who said,
[W]hen asked by a student spouse the other week how she kept up with reading all that I read so that she could support me in my work, my wife’s response (worthy of Newman himself) was ‘Read what he’s reading??? Lovey, I don’t even bother to read what he’s writing!’ In fact, she famously claims never to have read anything I have ever written. Why should she? She lives with me and knows what I am really like.
Melody’s first Sunday with the church
January 17, 2011

Yesterday Melody got to leave the house and gather with our church.

She didn’t cry the whole time we were with the church; she slept the whole time and waited to cry till we got home

HJ just happened to pick out the cutest outfit for Melody to wear

When we got home it was nice enough outside to go on a walk

One little girl saw us carrying the baby like this and asked my wife, “How did you get her back inside you?”
On the way to the hospital
December 14, 2010
Well, I’ve got my computer back . . . just in time for HJ and I to leave for the hospital. The doctor will begin some procedures this evening; we’ll spend the night at the hospital, then the induction will begin early in the morning. SOoooo, Lord willing, in a couple of days I’ll be home with little Melody in my arms! And I’m warning you, there will be LOTS of pictures. That means that if you only read blogs full of profound Scriptural/theological insights, feel free to avoid this blog for a while.
The baby is . . .

Sunday afternoon Picnic
November 1, 2010

HJ and I enjoyed a picnic yesterday at Joyner park
I’m still puzzled by my fortune cookie, maybe you can interpret it for me:
I SPENT THE TIME PREPARE THE SONG,
WHILE THE SONG IS NOT BEING SUNG.
After we finished our Chinese carry out, we went on a small hike

Sophie says, “I’m waiting, why are you guys so slow.”
When we got home, we made chocolate chip cookies and then watched How to Train your Dragon. The movie was excellent, I thoroughly recommend it!
